Excellent product (save money by buying PURE instead of PURE 2.0), May 27, 2012 This review is from: Kaspersky Pure 2.0 - 3 Users (CD-ROM) I used Kaspersky Internet Security for several years. This year I switched to PURE, and then upgraded for free to PURE 2.0. A PURE license entitles you to all updates and upgrades free for the life of your license.
I just installed it last month and so far, so good. I haven't (yet) experienced the license issue that has caused problems for some users. However, I've read about it in the Kaspersky forum and it's definitely a frustrating issue for many. I don't know whether this makes a difference or not, but I completely uninstalled KIS, rebooted, then installed PURE. I also completely uninstalled PURE, rebooted, then installed PURE 2.0. Time will tell.
The reason for my review is to suggest that if you are going to buy the product on this page, which is PURE 2.0 3-user, you might as well switch over to the PURE 3-user page and buy that instead. You'll save $14 as of today's date ($47.89 vs $33.95). Once you install PURE, which is version R2, then you can... Read more

Not an acceptable product as of 16 May 2012... Possibly fixed now., May 16, 2012 By This review is from: Kaspersky Pure 2.0 - 3 Users (CD-ROM) I upgraded to Pure 2 from an earlier version of Pure a few weeks ago. It is installed on my Win7 64-bit computer. The new version runs normally for a few hours or maybe as long as a couple of weeks and then throws a "License invalid" error and disables itself - leaving the computer completely unprotected. (Refer to the screenshots I added to the product images.) The only solution is to uninstall/reinstall the software. I have had the "license invalid" situation occur about eight times over 5 or 6 weeks. I am ditching this software and will revert to the earlier version for the remaining five months of my license period.
The situation has been reported by several users on the official Kaspersky forum. It has been reported to occur on both Win7 and WinXP. Tech support has supposedly been working on the problem for quite some time but the problem still persists.
Kaspersky Pure 2 is NOT an acceptable Security Suite at the time of this review. Stick with your... Read more

A patch is finally available to resolve the major flaw with the software in the form of a database update (requires a reboot to install). Several people on the official forums have claimed that it worked, however a clean re-install might be necessary. Since the issue seems to be resolved (I'll give it some more time though just to be sure) I'll go ahead rate the product up a few stars.

I've been a customer of Kaspersky for a few years now. For the most part I've been satisfied with most of their products including Internet Security as well as PURE 1.0. Recently I decided to build a new system (Windows 7 64-Bit Professional) and got this version of PURE for protection.
