Easy easy easy, but does chug memory on phones!, November 15, 2012 By This review is from: Norton 360 Multi-Device (Software) Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) Norton multi-platform is another great release by Symantec. It doesn't have the weird permissions like McAfee does. (Seriously, has anyone tried uninstalling McAfee? It's a CHORE.) The software is easy to use. I have it installed on my work PC with Windows 7, my laptop with Windows Vista, my Nexus 7 tablet, and my Samsung Galaxy S3. The only issue is that on the smart phone it does take a bit of the RAM and there is a little bit of slowdown when opening new pages (I figure the Norton software is just verifying the site credentials).
Though online browsing doesn't seem to be targeted highly for viruses yet, it's only a matter of time. So many mobile users don't have any protection, and if something happens to your phone, you might not be able to even send or receive calls or text! Again, nothing too scary yet... But I have a T-mobile unlimited plan so I use my phone as my internet source. I root the phone's 4g for wi-fi use for the Nexus tablet. So I am online a... Read more

Excellent protection. Needs some work with Windows 8., November 12, 2012 By This review is from: Norton 360 Multi-Device (Software) Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) I've been running Norton Anti-Virus on my systems ever since they removed the bloatware a couple of years ago, and greatly improved its performance. Since then, the program has been fast, quick to install, and light on resources. For the most part, Norton 360 has the same excellent performance despite having many more features. It installed in about a minute. After installing, it did download about 100MB of program updates which took a little while to download and install. Once installed, Norton 360 worked perfectly on my Windows 7 systems. On my Windows 8 system though, I'm having an issue with the Norton Firewall blocking internet access on all my programs. It seems the rules allowing programs to access the internet keep disappearing. Without them, the firewall blocks access by default. Adding them manually works, but sometimes the rules just disappear. I have not seen this behavior on my Windows 7 systems. If I could, I would just disable the Norton Firewall, and enable Windows'... Read more

Suprisingly Symantec Has Improved After A Dismal Last Few Years, November 15, 2012 By This review is from: Norton 360 Multi-Device (Software) Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?) Well I have to admit that I really wasn't all that thrilled to try this product since I had a HORRIBLE experience with Norton's and more specifically Symantec approximately 10 years ago (heck it may have even been longer than that, I really don't remember) when I was a HUGE supporter of Norton's anti-virus software and used it on all of my computers for several years. That is until about 5 or maybe even 6 years ago when Norton's software went crashing big time. Customer support was basically non-existent and the products was beyond any hope of working. I switched over to AVG Internet Security 2013 and haven't looked back since. Well that is until I decided that I would give Norton's one more try.
